Visitors to Tasmania seek so much more than cocktails and selfies; instead drawn by adventure, learning, authentic experience and genuine connection. With this in mind, we have created a new category of hotel, a storytelling hotel, that goes well beyond mere historical interpretation, to become an immersive storytelling experience.

With the experiences we offer, you'll be scripting your own legend.

Storytelling Tours

Our Master Storyteller and his team of full-time Storytellers know things about Tasmania which some thought to be lost in time. These engaging individuals have been hand-picked as scholars of Tasmania’s past with a gift for captivating delivery.

The 114 Doors tour guides you through the patchwork of stories and artefacts that punctuate our hallways, while the Waterfront Wapping tour invites you out to the majestic Hobart waterfront and the dark underbelly of the Wapping district, to meet the colourful characters who have crafted our island spirit. The Hidden Hobart: Sensed and Seen tour takes you from Old Wharf to New Wharf, using retro viewfinders to see today’s views through the eyes of someone who stood in the same spots somewhere between 35 and 150 years earlier.

For MACq 01 guests, these tours are complimentary ($20 for general public). Please call 03 6210 7600  to enquire about tour group rates for more than 10 people.
